ARC Compute is a leader in high-performance computing solutions, combining cutting-edge hardware and software to power next-generation infrastructure. Based in Markham, we’re growing fast and looking for a reliable, skilled Systems Administrator to help us manage and secure our systems.
What You’ll Do
• Administer and maintain Linux-based systems (Ubuntu/CentOS) — this is a must-have.
• Support Windows systems as needed (eventually expanding responsibilities).
• Handle user access, permissions, and general administrative tasks.
• Set up and manage secure environments with different access levels and controls.
• Manage drives, storage, and backups.
• Troubleshoot system issues and ensure uptime.
• Implement and maintain security protocols and monitoring.
• Be a trusted team member who can work independently and handle sensitive infrastructure.
What We’re Looking For
• Must-have: Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration.
• Experience with Windows Server is a plus.
• Familiarity with system security, access control, and user management.
• Comfortable with scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).
• Trustworthy, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Bonus: Experience with virtualization, cloud platforms, or high-performance computing.
Nice to Have
• Certifications (e.g., RHCSA, AWS SysOps, Microsoft Certified).
• Experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS).
• Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, etc.).
